![]() As Craniosacral therapy is concerned with creating and maintaining a healthy balanced state on all levels, it can be helpful in almost any condition. My personal health challenges, post-operative and colitis related, have certainly been aided and are a reason for my drive to share with others. The following are some examples of conditions that tend to readily benefit from Craniosacral treatment. Most of these I have personally treated and seen good results. Headaches, Migraines, Sleep disturbances Lack of clarity and Brain fog Tension, Stress, Anxiety, Depression Acute or Chronic Pain - back, neck, persistent anywhere in the body According to Mayo Clinic research, embracing forgiveness and relieving yourself of past pains plays a vital role in our Physical, Emotional and Spiritual health.
On the Physical level, letting go of the past boosts your immune system, lowers your blood pressure improving heart health, relieves acute and chronic pain, improves digestion and balances your hormones. Emotionally, forgiveness reduces stress, anxiety and hostility, enhances self-esteem, increases compassion and opens us to better relationships. On the Spiritual level, we feel re-connected with our closer and wider environment, our world expands and we are open to hear the innate guidance on how to proceed every day in alignment with our greater purpose. Yet for many, forgiving and letting go doesn't come spontaneously. I would like to share with you the practice I have developed and find really easy to follow. Sit quietly and take a few deep breaths. Allow the body to relax and calm down. Then think of a person you deeply love and appreciate or a moment in time when you felt profoundly happy and uplifted. Take time to notice how your body feels when you hold these images in your mind. Stay there, immersed in this sensation and acknowledge how good it feels. Hold it for a while and be grateful for the experience. Then slowly bring in the image of a person or experience you are wanting to forgive and let go of. Notice how your body feels now. Notice the difference. Next, become fully aware and clear about two things: Firstly, that on your human level of awareness you can never know all there is to know about the person or experience that you hold negative emotions about. So allow some space for a possibility of there being circumstances that you are unaware of but that would make you understand and see things in a different way if you knew what they were. Secondly, understand that holding on to the negative feelings and memories only ever hurts You - only You can feel your feelings. This actually goes as deep as affecting your body's chemistry, choking the very life that wants to be lived in and through it. It also keeps you stuck, feeling burdened and unable to progress in life and this will show in the areas of your health, relationships, creative expression or professional success and rewards. So make Forgiveness a Habit! Take 5 minutes daily to apply the above practice and see your life shift. Practiced for 30 consecutive days, you are guaranteed to experience progress in the areas where your life seems stuck and stagnant. I warmly invite you to commit to 30 days of completing this exercise - ideally doing this first thing every morning. Please do not let the simplicity of it deceive you in thinking it can't be enough to really make a change in your life! Let me know that you are taking this on by leaving a comment or contacting me directly via email. I would love to hear about your experiences. ![]() I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone that attended our recent event - The Essence of Health, Healing and Wellbeing. Thank you so much Milena, I am in for the next event.” “Thank you very much for your presentation… ![]() To those who have never received a craniosacral treatment, the term "unwinding"of the neck and the head will probably sound really strange and possibly even painful. It is a term used to refer to gentle manual work in which the weight of the head is fully supported by the therapist's hands. The hands gently cradle the base and the back of the head, acting like a sling. In this way, any movement in the neck is completely weightless, allowing full freedom and flow which would otherwise not be possible. The unwinding process can be performed on any part of the body - frequently on restricted shoulder, hip or knee joints with reduced mobility, but it can also be applied on individual organs. However, it has been my experience that the site most likely needing this form of deep work is at the base of the skull. The weight of the head is here supported by the first few vertebras and the amplitude of frequent movements is rather extensive to allow us to freely observe our environment. This puts considerable strain on the supporting structures. This anatomic area is also where the Vagus nerve exits the skull on it's way to the lower part of the body, supplying all the vital organs in the chest and the abdomen. The Vagus nerve is responsible for the parasympathetic function - rest, relaxation, repair, balancing, slowing down and healing of the organs of the cardiovascular, endocrine, digestive and immune systems. It is therefore vitally important that its path and function are clear and unrestricted. ![]() Would you agree that the right nutrition is one of the key aspects of health and healing? Do you feel confident that you know what constitutes a healthy diet? Do you follow it? How easy do you find it? Do you cook and do you enjoy it? Do you have time for it? In our upcoming complimentary health and healing lunchtime event, we will talk about various aspects that play an important role in our overall well-being - one of them will be nutrition. Over the years, I have experimented with a number of approaches, from mixed diet to vegetarian, vegan, fruitarian, juicing and fasting, paleo and macrobiotic to gluten and dairy free, specific carbohydrate diet, raw diet, blood-type diet, no diet. This was never done for weight loss purposes but purely to improve my digestive and general health. After years of research and personal experience, as well as living in different cultures in Europe, Asia and Australia, I will share with you my take on it. I will also introduce some fresh and surprisingly liberating ideas on general nutrition, what constitutes a natural and balanced diet, as well as what, when and how much to eat. What you will hear is very different from the kind of information coming from a large number of sources advocating the “modern science” of healthy eating. Come and join us with an open mind and engage in the conversation. To your health and well-being, Milena Founder of The Healthy Essence ![]() Each and every one of us is born with a "seed" of greatness. We refer to it as the vitality or the life itself. In craniosacral work, it is also known as "the breath of life". The breath of life is the expression of life itself, which manifests through constant movement and change within and around the physical body that we identify ourselves with. It is present in all the tissues, from the deepest, softest tissues and organs located strategically for protection in the centre of the body, through the more condensed and strong supportive structures of our musculo-skeletal system, through to the connective tissues, the surface of our skin and beyond. It is also present in all the fluids that bathe and circulate around our vital structures. It doesn't stop there, it resonates further, enveloping our bodies with the infinite matrix which engages with all other matrices present in the entire universe. ![]() Reiki is a hands-on healing technique that reinforces the body’s natural ability to heal itself on all levels - physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. It has a tendency to induce deep relaxation and a sense of calm, increase energy levels, and relieve stress, depression and negative thinking. It is particularly useful in the treatment of acute pain or injuries, where it enhances the natural healing process so it can happen more easily and quickly. Many people are practicing techniques to improve their health such as meditation, exercise and improved diet. As this is done, a deeper awareness often develops concerning the flow of subtle energies in and around the body and the connection between these subtle energies and one's health. This developing awareness validates the ancient idea of 'life force energy' as the cause of health and its lack as the cause of illness. |
